Stearman N54173 Restoration

Overview

1994 the aircraft was found by Lee Searles, Ray Chalker and John Dimmer near Seattle on a farm.

When they found it, it was painted like an 'Army' Stearman (blue fuselage). Lee took ithe aircraft apart and started the restoration from scratch.

The original Lycoming engine was sent to Aero Engine and replaced with a 220hp Continental engine. The cylinder heads were painted with aluminum.
